Bus services
Schiphol is easy to get to by bus from all the surrounding towns and villages. This is why we have compiled a list of all the bus services.

By train (Domestic)
Schiphol station is situated directly below the airport. You can pick up a free baggage trolley from the platform. Via Schiphol Plaza, you can walk straight to the departure or arrival hall.

Train tickets
Train tickets for domestic travel are available from the yellow ticket machines near the platforms at Schiphol Plaza. Tickets (for domestic and international travel) are also available from the ticket offices, which are situated close to the red/white-checked cube at Schiphol Plaza. Staff at the ticket offices will also be able to provide you with train departure information.

Incidentally, did you know that you can also purchase your train ticket well in advance? You can either buy one from a ticket machine or ask for a ticket without a date at one of the NS-service desks. It is possible to do so for both the outward and return journey. All you have to do on the day of travel is stamp your ticket at a machine on one of the platforms.

Information about your train journey
The journey planner on the NS website will provide you with information on the fastest and shortest route between your home address and Schiphol. It also contains the latest travel information, including details of temporary timetable changes.

Direct or change
From a great many stations, you can travel to the very heart of Schiphol either directly or with one change. Important railway hubs include Amsterdam Sloterdijk and Duivendrecht. The trains come into these stations at two levels. If you have to change at one of these stations, your connecting train will depart from another level to the one on which you arrived. The timetables make allowance for this.

Night train
If you are departing/arriving at night or in the early morning, the NS night network could be the answer. The night trains travel once an hour between Utrecht CS - Amsterdam CS - Schiphol - Leiden CS - Den Haag CS - Delft and Rotterdam CS and vice versa. Here you can buy tickets for international train journeys to many popular destinations. You can buy tickets for travel on, among others, the Thalys, ICE International, CityNightLine and Eurostar. You will receive your tickets by post. Payment takes place in a secure environment.

Schiphol Transfer Assistance

Schiphol Transfer Assistance (STA)
If you have ordered a taxi for your onward journey following your arrival at Schiphol, please report to the Schiphol Transfer Assistance (STA) desk. The staff there will bring you - and any fellow travellers - into contact with the (waiting) taxi driver of the taxi company responsible for taking you on
your onward journey. Most taxi companies participate in this service.

The STA desk is located at Schiphol Plaza and is open 24 hours a day. You cannot book any taxi rides at the STA desk.

Airline lounges

The children play areas
considerable part of the 40 million passengers that Schiphol handles each year consists of young children. Special play areas have been designed for them. When the wait is taking too long, your children will be able to spend their energy on the slides and carts. Wizzkids can enjoy themselves playing Nintendo computers, or an educational computer game such as memory. For the small builders there is a large supply of Lego. The televisions in the play areas show Disney and other cartoons non-stop.

The play areas are open daily from 06:00 to 22:00 hours. They are located between piers E and F. There is no supervision, you are responsible for the safety of your child yourself.

Lost and found
When you have lost or found an item at Schiphol, you can go to one of the information desks in the Lounges and at Departure and Arrival level. If the item you have lost is found and handed in, it will be kept at one of the information desks for you for up to a day.
After this period, you will only be able to contact the airport about the item by phone on 0900-0141, EUR 0.40 p.m. when calling from the Netherlands or +31 (0) 20 794 0800 when calling from abroad, or by e-mail via the special web form on which you can indicate exactly what you lost at Schiphol and whereabouts you lost it.

Communication Centre
The Communication Centre is located beyond passport control in Departure Lounges 1 and 2 and offers you Internet, telephone, mail and parcel services and meeting facilities while travelling.
The Communication Centre has been set up to accommodate all of your business communication to make sure that you have every office facility you need at Schiphol, too.

Internet
Using one of the Centre?s computers with a broadband Internet connection, you can e-mail, surf, print, chat or play games.

Wireless-LAN (Wi-Fi) and LAN
Are you travelling with your laptop or PDA? You are welcome to pull up a seat at the ?laptop bar? and get connected to the Internet. The Wi-Fi and LAN connections put your office at your fingertips.

Communication Zone
The Terminal has several Communication Zones where you can use broadband Internet connections with your laptop or PDA. The Communication Zones are located in Departure Lounge 1 upstairs and on Piers C and D.

Mini-offices
In the fully equipped mini-office you have a PC, Internet connection, telephone, fax and black & white printer at your disposal. You can phone and fax to numbers in Western Europe, Australia and the United States free of charge. For all other numbers, you receive a EUR .25 discount per minute on the standard rate. Customer Care Officers are on hand to offer technical support if necessary. The two-person mini-offices also have a conference telephone.
